IT’S JUST HAIR

Most people curl up under a blanket with a book or settle in for a nice film on a blustery day like this. Not the Shellys!

(If you own a salon or care at all about your appearance, maybe stop reading here….)

Jim and I decided the two of us would cut my hair (which hadn’t seen a trim for 8 months).

I bought Jim a very special hair scissor AND a layering scissor in anticipation of this BONDING event.

Despite our excellent supplies there was very little expertise or precision involved. Let’s just say it was a highly stressful experience. (For both of us!) We tag-teamed a weird “six-hair-tie YouTube master class” method and it kinda-sorta “worked.” I arranged the scrawny wet ponytails while my husband regurgitated the carefully-studied instructions.  Then my brave (foolhardy?) man sawed off the ends while I pinched my eyes shut. (Trust me, I’m using the word “sawed” pretty accurately here!) 😂

In the final analysis, I’ve got six less inches of hair to carry around, I’ve stopped trembling, and our marriage remains intact.
